15 AI prompts to pick a purposeful monthly goal

Some months feel scattered. I want one goal that feels good, not heavy.
When I feel like that, I do a quick Jar Check.

My five jars: Health, Meaningfulness, Mindfulness, Togetherness, Curiosity.
If two are low, I top them up with tiny actions and gentle structure.

Below are copy-paste prompts for any LLM. Pick one, drop it in, answer the questions, and you’ll get a clear, kind goal for the month. Low prep. Human-friendly. Zero corporate.

1) Jar Check → Goal Finder

Act as a gentle coach. Rate my five jars (Health, Meaningfulness, Mindfulness, Togetherness, Curiosity) by asking me 2 fast questions per jar. Identify the 2 lowest. Propose 3 one-sentence monthly goals that top those up. For my favorite, design a 4-week plan with: a tiny daily action (≤10 min), one weekly ritual, a ‘rest day’ rule, and a joy-based success metric. Keep it warm, simple.

2) Values > To-Do

Help me choose 3 values for this month (for example: curiosity, kindness, steadiness). Ask 5 quick either/or questions, then pick one North Star value. Craft one monthly goal that expresses that value daily in ≤10 minutes. Add: anti-goals (what I won’t do), 3 micro-celebrations, and a one-line ‘why it matters’ for my phone.

3) Tiny Epic

I have a vague itch to do something meaningful. Interview me with ≤7 questions to find the itch. Turn it into a ‘Tiny Epic’ (30-day project) with: Minimum Lovable Outcome, Day-1 5-minute start, a ‘stuck plan,’ and a Friday reflection question. Make it playful.

4) Energy-Budget Goal

Map my weekly energy (best times, low times) with 5 quick prompts. Recommend one purposeful goal that fits my real energy. Give a ‘match plan’: when to do the tiny action, how long (≤12 minutes), and what to skip.

5) Spoon-Friendly Ladder

Design a goal with 3 levels depending on my capacity: Low-spoon (3–5 min), Medium (15–20 min), High (45–60 min). Same spirit, different sizes. Include a rule: low-spoon days count 100%.

6) Anti-Burnout Guardrails

Suggest a meaningful monthly goal with these guardrails: max 3 hours/week, two no-work days, no tasks after 8 pm, and a weekly ‘nothing day.’ Give me a plan that still feels rich and satisfying.

7) End-of-Month Story Test

Ask me to imagine a 5-sentence story on the last day of the month where I feel proud, more mindful, and more connected. Reverse-engineer one goal that would make that story true. Provide 4 milestones (one per week), each with a fun checkpoint.

8) Joy Anchors Calendar

Create a 4-week Joy Anchors plan to fill different jars: Week 1 Health, Week 2 Togetherness, Week 3 Curiosity, Week 4 Mindfulness. If there’s a 5th week, add Meaningfulness as a bonus anchor. Each anchor = one 20-minute activity + one 3-minute version. Add a Sunday reset checklist.

9) One Habit + One Output

Help me pick 1 keystone habit (daily ≤10 min) and 1 tangible output to show at month-end (a page, a call, a walk log, a mini album, etc.). Build a 12-day chain to get momentum, then a maintenance rhythm. Include a ‘missed day protocol’ that is kind.

10) Belonging Boost

I want a goal that grows belonging (for me and others). Offer 3 options that are low prep and playful. For the winner, design weekly micro-actions: 1 reach-out, 1 share, 1 gratitude, 1 learn. Keep it safe, consent-based, and light.

11) Declutter & Delight

Blend mental declutter with a tiny delight. Ask 5 questions to pick four micro-spaces (digital, home, mind, calendar). For each, pair: a 10-minute tidy + a 5-minute delight ritual. Wrap into one month goal with a before/after check.

12) Compassionate OKR (Gentle)

Write a soft Objective (the feeling I want by month-end) and 2–3 Key Results measured in kind ways (for example: ‘I did 18 short sessions,’ ‘sleep avg +20 min,’ ‘3 moments of connection I can name’). Add a weekly 5-question check-in and a 1-line mantra.

13) If-This-Then-Care

Help me define a purposeful goal plus 5 ‘if-this-then-care’ rules (for example: IF I sleep <6h, THEN I do the low-spoon version; IF I miss 2 days, THEN I do a 3-minute restart). Make the plan resilient.

14) Month-on-a-Page

Interview me briefly (≤6 questions) and output a single page with: my Why, the Goal, Daily Tiny, Weekly Ritual, Guardrails, Celebrate, and a ‘Done For Today’ sentence I can say after 10 minutes.

15) Two-Jar Focus

Ask me which two jars feel emptiest right now (Health, Meaningfulness, Mindfulness, Togetherness, Curiosity). Propose one goal that tops both at once (for example: ‘phone-free evening walk + one curious photo’ = Health + Curiosity). Give daily and weekly actions, a friendly scoreboard, and a no-guilt skip rule.

Pick one prompt. Copy. Paste into your favorite AI (Like ChatGPT or Gemini). Answer honestly :)
Then do your first tiny action today, not tomorrow!
