Belonging Game – Sample Day: Rosh Hashanah

This is a sample of one day from our activity library: Belonging Games.

Why this day (Rosh Hashanah) matters

Rosh Hashanah is the Jewish New Year, a time for fresh starts, reflection, and hope. Common traditions include dipping apples in honey to wish for a sweet year, blowing the shofar (a ram’s horn) as a “wake-up call” to do good, and a simple outdoor ritual called Tashlich that symbolizes letting go of mistakes. When kids learn about the beauty of this celebration, they build a human connection with people from this culture. Kids who come from this culture feel seen. That is how we grow connection and belonging. Now imagine kids learning about many cultures, genders, and nationalities in the same playful way.
