1. To build a happy, successful life, we need a few key ingredients. One of the most important is mental health. We keep an eye on our “mental health jar” and make sure it stays full. If it runs empty, it’s hard to build a good life.

2. How do we fill the jar? There are many ways, but we focus on the ones that feel good, are creative, and are genuinely fun. Why? Because this isn’t a one-time task. We need to refill it every day. The more we enjoy filling it, the more we’ll keep doing it.

We bring this mindset into kids’ everyday life with our after-school program called Belonging Games: a year-round, all-games, no-prep, unplugged program that helps kids grow a strong sense of belonging and a natural appreciation for diversity.

This program has an interesting calendar. Each day features a creative activity connected to cultural and diverse events from around the world. Kids celebrate the beauties of different cultures one day at a time with playful activities like bingo, word searches, trivia, and coloring. It’s easy for educators to run (30-60 minutes, minimal prep) and meaningful for kids; each session ends with a small moment of pride, like a certificate to take home.

Negar Yaghoobi is the founder. Negar is a Mental Health Ed-Tech entrepreneur. She built two companies in this space. Her first served over 700,000 consumers on a wellness education platform. Her second evolved into a clinical research project exploring a “Digital Vitamin” for subclinical anxiety. She cares deeply about making mental health learning simple, playful, and part of everyday life. She wants all kids to have their mental health jars full.
